(March, 2021 Statement)

The Japan Innocence and Death Penalty Information Center strongly urges people around the globe to stand in solidarity with Mumia. Mumia has been in contact with us, and I (Michael H. Fox) visited him twice when he was still on death row at Greene.

The world is full of Mumias- those who espoused change and paid the price for urging reform. And those who ran afoul of the law because their color or ethnic background differed from the majority. There can be no greater human endeavor than working for justice. One of the great rabbis of the 20th century, Menachem Schneerson, often taught,  "When we right the wrongs of society, we are acting as partners in the act of sustaining creation.” 

Let us join together to reform the world. Mumia’s release will advance humanity.
